Vietnam Apparel Exports Hit US$6.4 Bln in 10 Months
Vietnam apparel exporters are estimated to have earned US$6.41 billion in the past ten months this year, up 31.1 per cent on year, the General Statistic Office (GSO) said.
The U.S. remains Vietnam’s biggest apparel importer with $3.4 billion, or 60 per cent of the total export value, Dau Tu (Investment) newspaper cited the Ministry of Trade and Industry as saying.
In October, the country exported $720 million, down from $750 million in September, GSO noted.
In the ten month span, Vietnam imported $3.2 billion of cloth, up 34.6 per cent on year, excluding $1.7 billion of apparels and leather accessories, up 34.6 per cent on year.
The ministry forecast Vietnam’s apparel export value will reach the target of $7.5 billion if local exporter can keep the same growth rate. (Investment, GSO October Edition)
