ANZ Issues Visa Credit Cards in Vietnam
Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd. (ANZ) has become the first foreign credit card issuer in Vietnam after the bank has launched its own ANZ Visa.
Philip Crouch, general director of ANZ Vietnam’s Personal Banking, said the debut of ANZ Visa credit card is made after the successful introduction of the bank’s Housing Loans service.
It means that ANZ is boosting personal banking services in Vietnam.
Visa International said earlier that Vietnam is a promising market for foreign banks as only four million people of 84 million people have credit cards.
Number of Visa Debit cards issued in Vietnam last year increased sharply by 123 per cent on year to 118,000 cards, making Vietnam one of the world’s fastest-growing markets for Visa Debit cards in 2006, just behind Bangladesh and Pakistan. (VNA, VTC)
