Vietnam Airlines Buys 5 Aircraft ATR 72-500

On December 6,Vietnam Airlines announced that it signed a contract with France’s plane producing company ATR to buy five aircraft ATR 72-500. With the purchase, Vietnam Airlines has become the airline with the biggest squadron ATR 72 in the region. ATR, based in Toulouse of France, is a world leading plane producer using small-sized turbine propellers (50-74 chairs).
 
The signing held in Hanoi is part of the squadron developing plan of Vietnam Airlines. At the same time, it also represented Vietnam Airlines’ commitment to closely and effectively cooperate with leading aircraft producers in the world.
 
According to Mr. Nguyen Sy Hung, Chairman cum General Director of Vietnam Airlines: ” We believed that the buying of five more planes ATR 72-500 with 70 seats will timely meet the transport demand of Vietnam Airlines on short-distance flight. It will help boost tourism, investment and trade activities across the country and between Vietnam and other Indochinese countries.”
