Vietnam: Key Asian Market for Italian Investors
Vietnam is considered one of key markets offering promising business opportunities for Italian enterprises, said an official from Italy’s Employers’ Confederation (Confindustria).
Carlo Calenda, Foreign Affairs Assistant to the Confindustria President said the confederation will send a delegation of 15 industrial enterprises from Italy to Vietnam to seek investment opportunities in this June.
To prepare for the trip, the Confindustria will join hands with Vietnamese Embassy in Rome to hold a series of seminar in the local cities Prato, Reggio Emilia, Como, Monza and from February 31 and April 3 to introduce Vietnam’s potentials to Intalian companies.
The Confindustria includes 113,000 businesses which play an important part in Italia’s industrial development.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Italy has recently held a seminar to seek for investors from Italia’s southeast coastal region of Pugli to invest in the country.
As of late October 2007, Italian investors invested in 23 projects in Vietnam worth US$93.27 million, according to local Vietnam Investment Review newspaper.
The two countries expect the two-way trade hit at least US$1.5 billion in this year. (VNA)
