is estimated to have exported US$210 million worth of seafood products in February, bringing the country’s total seafood export revenues in the first two months of 2008 to US$511 million, the General Statistics Office (GSO) said.
The seafood export of February decreased by 30 per cent on month, but the first two months’ revenues marked on year rise of 19.1 per cent, latest report by the GSO showed.
In January of 2008, exported around 87,250 tons of seafood, earning more than US$313 million, up 4.47 per cent in terms of volume and 4.57 per cent in value compared with December of 2007.
Of the total, exports of frozen fish accounted for 57.75 per cent in volume and 44.23 per cent in value while frozen accounting 13.1 per cent and 29.1 per cent, respectively, figures from the General Customs Department showed.
