Thai Firms to Open Chain Stores in Vietnam
Loxley and Saha Groups, Thailand’s leading technology, trading and consumer goods giants, plan to open a chain of “convenience” stores in Vietnam, the Vietnam & World Economy newspaper said.
Loxley and Saha Groups targeted to debut the first store by the end of this year in Ho Chi Minh City, Loxley's executive director Jingjai Hanchalash said without giving the estimated investment.
The stores would sell a variety of goods, including clothing and sports shoes made by Saha, Jingjai Hanchalash noted.
More and more international retail sale giants like Metro Cash & Carry, Parkson, Dairy Farm and Planet Sports are flocking into Vietnam, said local market analysts.
The country’s retail market ranks fourth most attractive in the world, behind India, Russia and China, according to AT Kearney. (Vietnam & World Economy)
