Gold prices have surged to the peak of VND19.5 million per tael in Vietnam in the early morning of March 17, a record high value so far, the online Vnexpress reported.
Domestic gold price hike are mostly attributed to a sudden rise in the New York market as gold prices this morning touched the $1,031 milestone for the first time after nearly one week of standing at around $975 an ounce. (1 tael = 1.2 troy ounce)
The price of SJC gold hit between VND19.3 million and VND19.5 million/tael, an increase of nearly VND200,000/tael compared to the previous days.
