MekongDeltaCity Seeking US$10.6 Bln for 38 Key Projects

The largest Mekong Delta city of Can Tho is calling on investors for 38 key projects valued at US$10.6 billion in total, the local Investment newspaper reported March 28.
 
The projects focus on the fields of infrastructure constructions, mechanical engineering, electronics, textile, tourism, health, education and several others.
 
The largest projects are 25,000-hectare O Mon-Co Do New Urban Area worth US$7.5 billion and Can Tho-An Giang Expressway valued at US$1.8 billion.
 
Following is infrastructure construction of Thot Not Industrial Park in the second phase of US$300 million and 400-hectare O Mon Hi-tech Park worth US$120 million.
 
The city has set a goal to attract US$1 billion from domestic and foreign investment in 2008, including around US$700 million in industrial parks, a provincial official said.
 
Can Tho is set to become an industrial city by 2020-the center of the whole Mekong Delta Region-under a recent decision approved by the government. (Investment)
