US$1.65 Bln Urban Eco-tourism Resort to Be Built in Central Vietnam
Trungnam Group will build an urban eco-tourism resort worth more than US$1.65 billion in central Danang city.
Located in Hoa Hiep Ward, Lien Chieu District, the Thuy Tu Resort will cover over 3,420 hectares. It will include a residential area, a resort and other entertainment facilities.
According to the Lien Chieu People’s Committee, FBS-Gami Group was selected as investor of the project May 22, 2007. However, the city has decided to withdraw a license from the group and granted to Trung Nam due to sluggishness.
Danang is endowed with enormous tourist potential owing to the advantages of geography climate history economy and culture.
Last year, the city welcomed more than one million tourists, up 32.2 per cent over 2006 and earned total tourism revenues of VND1.5 trillion (US$93.8 million).
In the master plan of tourist development of the country the regions of Danang, Hue and Quang Nam have been identified as one of the three core tourist areas of Vietnam. (HCM City Law, Pioneer)
