Vietnam PM Asks Stable Goods Supply for Tet Holiday
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has urged ministries and relevant agencies to make concerted efforts to prevent recession, boost goods production and supply, and ensure a stable market during Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday next month, according to the PM’s recent Directive.
They were asked to tighten market management to prevent smuggling and the trading of low-quality and counterfeit goods and keep close watch on the market prices of necessary commodities to deal with sudden fluctuations.
The aforementioned bodies were also mandated to organize entertainment activities, exhibitions and fairs to serve the entertainment and shopping needs of local people during the Tet holiday.
In the recently-issued directive, the cabinet leader urged relevant ministries, agencies and provinces to strictly carry out the Government’s urgent measures to prevent an economic downturn, promote production and exports, ensure social security, maintain economic growth, prevent smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and speculation to stabilize the market. The PM also asked them to strengthen thrift practice and anti-wastefulness, especially in public spending. (Youth, Labor, Pioneer)
