Philippines to Import 500,000 Tons of Rice from Vietnam
The Filipino government is likely to sign agreements with Vietnamese companies to import 500,000 tons of rice at most early next month.
Vietnamese exporters said the Philippines wants to buy 500,000 tons of 25 per cent broken rice from the Southern Food Corporation (Vinafood 2), the biggest rice exporting company in Vietnam, at US$380 a ton, C&F.
The Philippines, the biggest rice importer of Vietnam, is estimated to buy 2.3 million tons of rice in 2008. (Vietnam Economic Times)
