Vietnam Signs US$1.459B ODA Deals for Projs in Jan-Apr: Ministry
Vietnam had inked ODA agreements valued at US$1.459 billion for infrastructure development projects in the first four months, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
The deals include US$1.448 billion of soft loans and US$11.66 million grants, the MPI said.
Vietnam had signed a US$410.2 million deal with the Asian Development Bank for an expressway linking Ho Chi Minh City and adjacent provinces, a US$218.21 million deal for water resource improvement in Hanoi, and a US$183.5 million deal with Japan for a railway in Hanoi.
Amid the global downturn, the Southeast Asian country had received approx US$300 million of ODA loans during the time, or 16 per cent of the year’s target, including US$239 million of loans and US$61 million grants, the ministry noted. (Investment)
