Vietnam to Hold Business Meeting in U.S. Soon

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has just agreed to hold a business conference in New York and several other U.S. economic hubs soon, the Government Office said.
 
The Government Office said that the conference is expected to be held in the third or the fourth quarter when government officials attend meetings at the United Nations.
 
In the first half of this year, Vietnam’s pledged foreign direct investment (FDI) dropped 77.4 per cent on-year to US$8.87 billion with the U.S. among the top ten largest investors with 12 projects capitalized at US$56.7 million, the government’s General Statistics Office said.
 
In the first four months of this year, Vietnam shipped US$3.74 billion worth of goods to the United States (U.S.), an on-year rise of 3 per cent.
