HCMC Ranks 2nd in Vietnam’s FDI Attraction
HCM City has pulled in a total of foreign direct investment (FDI) of US$911.9 million so far this year, ranking the 2nd in Vietnam’s FDI attraction, just behind southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
Of the sum, the city authorities licensed US$706.1 million of 173 newly-licensed projects and the rest of expansion of the 54 projects.
The southern economic hub has to date licensed 3,141 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects totaling US$25.68 billion. Of the sum, 48.5 per cent is poured into the services sector and 36.3 per cent comes into industry and the rest in the agro-forestry-fishery sectors.
Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, British Virgin Islands are the city’s biggest foreign investors.
