Vietnam Permits Joint Ventures to Arrange Outbound Tours
Tourism joint ventures between local and foreign investors can arrange outbound tours beginning August 10 for Vietnamese and foreigners living and working in Vietnam, a segment so far privileged for local companies only.
The Travel Department under the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism met with representatives of these joint ventures on August 5 in Hanoi to give detailed guidance on the expanded scope for such tour operators, Vu The Binh head of the department said.
The move aims to create a level-playing field for all travel firms and to help the country welcome more tourists, he said.
Six out of 12 joint venture travel firms in Vietnam sent their representatives to the meeting, Binh added. (Youth, VNBusinessNews)
