The World Information Technology Forum (WITFOR) is the first international ICT event to be held in Vietnam. WITFOR 2009 is set to take place in Hanoi from August 26, 2009 to August 28, 2009 and is expected to welcome more than 1,500 leaders of ICT companies and specialists from more than 70 countries in the world.
WITFOR is held every two years under the initiative of the United Nations’ International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), aimed at boosting cooperation, supporting developing countries, accelerating IT applications in socioeconomic fields. WITFOR is held for the first time in 2003 in Lithuania, the second in 2005 in Botswana and the third in 2007 in Ethiopia.
The international software, IT and human resource exhibition 2009 includes the following major contents:
Software and ICT exhibition: displaying typical software applications and solutions, new technologies, internet television technology, mobile media, wide wireless network, wireless technology, environment-friendly IT and others. Especially, this exhibition will have reserved locations for Vietnam’s Sao Khue Award 2009 winners. Enterprises from many countries like Japan, South Korea and Thailand will join this event.
International IT job bazaar: This activity is aimed at bringing Vietnam to the supplier of international IT human resources. The exhibition will introduce IT training capacity at Vietnamese schools to the international IT community. Vietnamese and international enterprises will have space for directly recruiting personnel and this is a chance for Vietnamese IT engineers and students to choose their career. The exhibition is also a place for enterprises, training units and students to meet and exchange.
Business matching: Promoting and organising meetings for Vietnamese with international participants to seek new business opportunities and expand markets. The organising board for WITFOR 2009 has built a website for business matching at
www.ictnetworking.vn . The system will automatically match requirements of enterprises and prepare the lists and dating. There will be a space at the exhibition for participants to meet at WITFOR 2009.
Conferences at WITFOR 2009:
Conferences will catch the eyes of specialists, business leaders and policymakers at WITFOR 2009. Three conferences will be incorporated with the WITFOR 2009, including: Business cooperation bridge for Vietnamese and international companies; Vietnamese software industry overview; and changes in ICT human resource demand and ICT development.
WITFOR 2009 is now a major concern of the IT community in Vietnam and in the world. The first international software, IT and human resource exhibition 2009 will draw special attention of WITFOR 2009 attendants.
