Vietnam PM Oks Expansion of Dung Quat EZ
The Vietnamese prime minister has approved a plan to expand the Dung Quat Economic Zone (EZ) in the central province of Quang Ngai to 45,332 hectares from the current 10,300 hectares.
The expanded EZ, which will cover districts of Binh Son, Son Tinh and Ly Son island with a population of 485,000 people by 2025.
The EZ will be developed into a multi-functional EZ covering various industries of trade, services, industrial, tourism, agro-forestry-fisheries, and urban development.
Located in Binh Son district, the Dung Quat Economic Zone had pulled in 147 investment projects worth US$10 billion as of mid-June. (Youth)
