Vietnam Attracts US$10B FDI in Jan-Jul, Down 81.2 per cent On-Year: MPI

Vietnam is estimated to have attracted over US$10 billion of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first seven months this year, down 81.2 per cent from a year earlier, the Ministry of Planning and Investment said Tuesday.
 
In July, the Southeast Asian country licensed 80 new FDI projects with a combined registered capital of US$1.2 billion and many of big foreign companies such La Vie, DHL, TNT, Prudential and Petro registered with MPI for expansion of their operations. 

Between January and July, the country disbursed US$4.6 billion of FDI, down 22.5 per cent on-year, the MPI said. (Youth)
