In a series of events celebrating the Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day, October 13, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has coordinated with the Nhan Dan (The People) Daily to hold a forum titled “Promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the process of modernisation, industrialisation and integration” in Hanoi on October 10.

He said more efforts were needed to improve the business environment to enable entrepreneurs to promote their businesses. He also urged the enactment of incentive policies to develop giant entrepreneurs in all economic sectors, the creation of assistance plans for small businesses and the beefed up efforts to build an entrepreneurial culture.

Mr Ha Van Nui, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, spoke high of the business community’s role in improving the national economy. He said that in the context of economic integration, Vietnamese entrepreneurs should work together in healthy competition.

Ms Lee Ju Song, Director of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Asia said entrepreneurs were playing a decisive role in Vietnam’s success; thus, it was necessary to create an environment to encourage them to be ready to face risks to make success.

The forum also pointed out existing limitations on Vietnamese businesses such as the lack of business managers and professional business strategies. Most of Vietnam’s businesses operating in the trade and service industries are relatively small.
