Vietnam will earn US$2.8 billion from exporting wood products in 2009, unchanged from 2008, the Information Center for Agriculture and Development (AgroInfo) has forecast.

Export prices of Vietnamese wood products will be 11.94% lower as compared to the average level last year despite recent increases, the center said.

Vietnam’s woodwork industry recovers as its export revenues have been consecutively increasing since May and enterprises have gained many export orders for rest of this year.

The U.S., Japan, and EU – three major importers of Vietnamese wood products have all reported economic recoveries, prompting local firms to boost woodwork exports to these markets.
