Vietnam Promotes Tourism Potential, Image in France
Vietnam held a conference titled “Vietnam – a favorite destination” in France on Dec 14 to advertise its tourism potential and image with the aim to attract more French visitors in the future.
The event which was co-organized by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the Vietnamese Embassy in France was part of the communist country’s tourism promotion program in the foreign country this month.
At the workshop, the VNAT provided an overview of Vietnam’s new policies on developing tourism and attracting tourists, as well as major promotion campaigns in 2010, especially programs for French travelers and other projects of interest to Vietnam.
Vietnam welcomed 159,400 visitors from France in the first eleven months of this year, up 40.3% on month.
The communist country plans to pour VND40 billion (US$2.16 million) into tourism promotion campaigns abroad next year. (New Hanoi)
