Vietnam's Apparel Industry Losing Competitiveness: AmCham
The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham)’s Apparel and Footwear Committee said Vietnam’s apparel industry is gradually losing its competitive advantage compared to other countries due to the labor cost hike and the capability reduction.
The committee suggested Vietnam should increase training of skills and stabilize the labor force for the country’s strategic industry to continue to be the main apparel exporter to the American and European markets.
Vietnam has become the second biggest apparel exporter into the U.S. with its market share of 6.24% only after China, the Vietnam News Agency said Dec 23. (New Hanoi)
