Vinashin Expects to Sign Contracts worth US$300M at Vietship 2010
Vinashin Business Group expects to sign a number of contracts worth US$300 million with companies at the 5th International Exhibition on Shipbuilding, Marine Technology and Transportation (Vietship 2010), said Vinashin Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh.
The three-day event which opened at the National Convention Center in Hanoi on March 17 has attracted 300 firms with two-thirds from developed shipbuilding nations such as Japan, China, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway, Binh said.
Covering an area of 10,000 s.q.m, the exhibition is displaying modern shipping technology and equipment, shipbuilding materials, logistics and insurance services as well as shipping register procedures.
Binh disclosed that his group will market products, including ships from VND1,000 to 3,000 DWT at the event.
At the 4th Vietship held in 2008, Vinashin inked contracts valued at US$1 billion.
Vinashin posted revenues of VND31 trillion in 2009, up 6% over a year ago and targets an on-year revenue growth of 15% this year, the chairman said. (Investment)
