Vietnam to Spend US$3.7M on 2010 Tourism Promotion Campaign
Vietnam will invest VND71 billion (US$3.7 million) to carry out the national tourism promotion campaign called “Vietnam – Your Destination” this year, said the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Mar 16.
The campaign will focus on key markets, including China, North Asia, France and West Europe, the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, ASEAN and Russia.
It will take place during August-September or September-October, the tourism agency said, adding that it will encourage tourism service providers to offer 10%- 30% discounts to their customers.
To advertise the campaign, the VNATT will organize meetings with Overseas Vietnamese Societies in France, America, England, and Australia.
International visitors to Vietnam increased by 27.4% from a year earlier to 877,700 in the first two months of this year.
The country aims to welcome between 4.5 million and 4.6 million foreign travelers and earn tourism revenues of between US$4 billion and US$4.5 billion this year.
