Japan Firms Seeking Investment Opportunities in Vietnam: Ambassador
A number of Japanese companies are seeking investment opportunities in Vietnam, the Ambassador Mitsuo Sakaba said.
Recently, Japan’s Kobeseiko Company has received approval from the Vietnamese government to build a $1 billion steel plant Vietnam, Mitsuo Sakaba said.
Japanese firms are moving their investments from the manufacturing sector to trade and service sector, Mr. Sakaba said, adding that Japan leading companies in industrial production eyeing investment in the Southeast Asian country.
The ambassador also expressed his hope that the Vietnamese government will create give more incentives for Japanese businesses.
Japanese companies invested in $17.8 billion in 1,200 projects in Vietnam by end-November last year, ranking the fourth among foreign countries and territories in the country. (Investment)
