Vietnam Imports from Russia Soar 24.5% to $175.8M in Jan-Feb
Vietnam imported $175.8 million worth of goods from Russia in the first two months of this year, soaring 24.5% from a year earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
The country’s imports were valued at $73.7 million in February, down 0.8% on-month but up 18.7% on-year.
Main imports of Vietnam in Jan-Feb were iron and steel with $85.08 million, up 72.3% on-year, petroleum products with $32.36 million, down 38.7% and fertilizer with $24.2 million, up 94.8%, said the ministry.
CBU car imports reported the highest on-year rise of 583.2% to $195,723, followed by seafood of 502.6% to $1.01 million, noted the ministry.
Vietnam fetched $75 million from exported goods to Russia in Jan-Feb, up 22.7% on-year, resulting in the country’s trade deficit of $100.8 million.
The Southeast Asian country is forecast to fetch $560 million from exports to Russia in 2010, up 38.27% on-year. (Vinanet)
