S.Korea Tops Foreign Investors in Vietnam So Far
South Korean companies have invested $22 billion in 2,495 projects in total in Vietnam so far, ranking the first among foreign investors in the country.
The runners-up are Taiwan with 2,087 projects worth $21.6 million, Japan with 1,211 projects valued at $19.3 billion and Malaysia with 351 projects capitalized at $17.98 billion.
South Korea companies will boost investments in Vietnam this year, Ambassador Im Hong-Jae said, adding that his investors will further carry out projects in fields of garment industry, shoes, IT and labor force in the country in 2010.
South Korea pledged to provide $270 million in official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam this year.
Last year, the foreign country poured $1.61 billion into Vietnam, ranking the fourth among foreign investors. (VIR)
