Credit Suisse Pledges to Finance Huge Projects in Vietnam

Credit Suisse Group AG has pledged to provide loans for huge projects in Vietnam and to help the Southeast Asian nation train financial manpower for state-run firms.
 
Leaders of the world leading financial group made the commitment at a meeting with Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet in Zurich city May 17, the Communist Party of Vietnam said.
 
The Vietnamese leader also attended a business forum where he assured to give more favorable conditions to Swiss investors.
 
Triet witnessed the signing of export contracts of handicraft products and fertilizers at the forum.    
 
Jean-Daniel Gerber, Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs, affirmed his country attaches an importance of expanding economic ties with Vietnam, highlighting tourism, services, insurance, banking and communications as potential fields for the bilateral ties.
 
Vietnam is among seven ODA recipients from the Swiss government.
 
Two-way trade rose five folds over the past ten years to $2.6 billion in 2009.
 
President Triet started visiting the capital city of Bern today on his four-day tour to Switzerland. (www.cpv.org.vn)
