Singapore to Boost Tourism Investments in Central Vietnam
Singaporean companies will boost investments into tourism sector in central province of Quang Nam, state media Wednesday, citing Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Simon Wong Wie Kuen.
Simon Wong said at a meeting on May 18 that Singapore plans to open sea routes and bring cruise ships that are capable of carrying between 2,000 and 3,000 visitors to the province to facilitate tourism.
The ambassador also pledged to facilitate Singaporean firms to invest in the province, especially in foreign language training, tourism consultant and industrial cooperation.
Quang Nam now remains an attractive place for Singaporean visitors even though there is no direct flight connecting the province with Singapore, he noted.
Quang Nam province has so far licensed more than 80 tourism projects with total investment of over US$10.8 million and around 20 others are under construction totaling US$35.5 million. (Vietnam & World Economy)
