E-customs Application

Electronic customs procedures have been applied in 30 customs offices, and more than 1,100 companies have used this method, accounting for 2.63 % of total companies dealing with customs formalities. Customs declaration reached 73,000 files, accounting for 4.1 % of total import-export customs files. As much as US$13.645 billion of import export turnover was electronically completed, accounting for 16.38 % of total import and export revenues in applied areas.

The average clearance time for green-rated papers is 3-15 minutes; yellow-rated electronic papers from 10-20 minutes and yellow-rated normal papers from 10-60 minutes. The time for red-rated papers varies from checked batches.

The General Department of Customs (GDC) is coordinating with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to organise training courses and seminars on e-customs procedures for enterprises, compile and distribute e-customs documents to enterprises.
