“METALEX Vietnam,” Part of "METALEX," the largest event in ASEAN, has once again repeated its strong positioning as “Vietnam’s Most Comprehensive Machine Tool & Metalworking Event,” will organize during 7–9 October 2010 at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC), Nguyen Van Linh Parkway, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The exhibition will show the biggest range of technologies, with 500 global brands from 25 countries, and 20 Conferences & Technology Presentations and plans to attract 7,000 buyers.

In addition to offering the most complete exhibit profile, METALEX Vietnam also offers more business opportunities in new markets through its co-location with “Electronics Assembly 2009,” the second Vietnam’s International Machinery Expo for Electronic Parts and Components Manufacturing. METALEX Vietnam participants will meet potential customers and business partners from the electronics industry.

During these three days, METALEX Vietnam will be a unique manufacturing community where industrialists can meet, exchange knowledge and ideas, learn from one another, and build world-level business networks. The new technologies; new knowledge, ideas, and techniques; new business networks; and new experiences that METALEX Vietnam is presenting are important tools that, if applied strategically and consistently with continual development, can enable all participants to forge substantial business advancement and profit from the rising opportunities in Vietnam.

Ms. Nichapa Yoswee, Managing Director of Reed Tradex Company, Thailand and Vietnam’s leading exhibition and conference organizer, said that according to the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA), the country’s economy will be strong this year, and the steel sector will see high growth, with an increase in production value of 9.7 percent to VND12.4 trillion (US$689million).

VSA plans to continue the implementation of key, strategic development projects, to focus on research and analysis, and to strengthen trade promotion, trademark development and the search for new export markets, with the expected government’s supports in stimulating the domestic market, maintaining stable for ex rates and offering sufficient foreign currency for the import of raw materials for production purposes.

Otherwise, Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment's Foreign Investment Agency recently announced its prediction for 2010's newly registered and expanded foreign direct investment (FDI) fund at US$22–25 billion, a 10-percent increase from last year's projection. In addition, the World Investment Prospects Survey 2009–2011 by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development ranks Vietnam as one of the top 15 most FDI friendly countries in the world.

Even the direction of the global economic situation is better but Vietnamese industrialists cannot stop improving themselves. This is also time to quicken steps so that they can have the necessary technologies and experiences to supply themselves with what’s needed to survive and to resurface to the top. This is a very good opportunity for all Vietnamese businessmen and industrialists to update further knowledge and technology for their improvement which is a necessary for in current industrial and economic situation in Vietnam.

Mr Chanin Khoachan, Director of BOI Unit for Industrial Linkage Development (BUILD) the Board of Investment of Thailand said that in the context of the global economic centre gradually moving to Asia. Competitiveness and investment in this region is becoming more comprehensive, especially in the ASEAN region. However, ASEAN economies have not been strong and competitive enough to complete in the global market. ASEAN countries should share resource and strengths with production units to become a single market of the ASEAN economic community, with total population of over 566 million.

As Vietnam is one of the target countries that Thai government would like to form partnership with, ‘METALEX Vietnam 2010’ is one of the two exhibition channels (another show is ‘Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2010’ also by Reed Tradex) for BUILD to promote Thai entrepreneurs to enter Vietnam’s industrial market to extend business opportunities with Vietnamese fellows which would definitely help strengthen the potential of ASEAN for the global arena. Moreover, both are the biggest events outside Thailand which BUILD supports Thai entrepreneurs to join. Vietnamese partners will get a chance to develop win-win opportunities with Thai technology providers to source not only to the Vietnamese market, but also the global market.

METALEX Vietnam 2010 has received with strong supports from the relevant ministries of Vietnam and lots of local and foreign business associations and promotion organizations.
