Govt Okays Building Thanh Thuy Border Gate Economic Zone

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai recently approved general planning tasks for construction of 28,781-ha Thanh Thuy border gate economic zone in Ha Giang province until 2030.

 

This economic zone is situated in a relatively convenient location, which is bordered by Vi Xuyen district on the east, Hoang Su Phi district on the west, and Yunnan province, China on the north. The economic zone lies on 26 km of Vietnam - China borderline, thus playing a crucial role in security and defence.

 

This will also be a general economic zone for different economic sectors like trade, tourism, service, industry, agriculture and forestry and will be the gateway to international trade, a transport, export- importing centre, etc.

 

According to the plan, by 2030, the economic zone will have a population of 35,000 - 40,000 people, including 180,00-20,000 workers.

 

Currently, the plan has been sent to the Hag Giang People's Committee, which will cooperate with the Ministry of Construction and other related ministries and agencies to carry out the plan.
