Vietnam Remains Promising Destination for U.K. Investors: Official
Vietnam is listed among attractive destinations in the emerging markets for the U.K. companies in three consecutive years, the Vietnamese Commercial Counselor, An The Dung said.
Dung cited the U.K. Trade and Investment’ survey on 520 senior corporate leaders in all fields as saying that they are willing to do business or plan to boost investment in these nations in the next two years.
Among those, BP, Shell, BAT, GlaxoSmithKline, Tate & Lyle, Prudential, Unilever, ICI and Catrol have established investment cooperation in the Southeast Asian market.
A business delegation from the U.K. will make a trip to Vietnam between November 28 and December 4 to seek business and investment opportunities.
The U.K’s businesses have invested $2.22 billion in 134 projects in Vietnam so far, ranking the 17th among foreign investors and aiming to raise their direct investment to $3 billion by 2013. (Youth)
