PM Approves Hanoi Master Plan
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approved the Hanoi master plan until 2030 with a vision toward 2050 to convert the city into a sustainable development capital. Hanoi in 2030 will have an administrative area of 3,344 square kilometres with its centre - the old Hanoi - surrounded by five satellite cities (Hoa Lac, Son Tay, Xuan Mai, Phu Xuyen - Phu Minh, and Soc Son), towns and countryside. These units are well-connected.
The metropolis will be broadened to become the political, economic and cultural hub of the country.
Headquarters of the Party, National Assembly, State and Government will be located in Ba Dinh, My Dinh and Tay Ho.
