Teachers from 39 Provinces Get Training
As many as 200 teachers and management staff from primary schools in 39 provinces nationwide participated in a training course on Child Centred Methodology (CCM) ahead of this new school year.
The course, jointly organised by the Ministry of Education and Training, and Oxfam, a non-governmental organisation, was a continuing step in applying CCM in 41 needy provinces since August 2010.
The method aims to teach students how to work in groups, how to make questions, how to create studying equipment from existing materials, how to play games and how to best use the classroom.
After ten years, it has been applied in the provinces of Lao Cai, Tra Vinh and Dak Nong and helped the provinces promote teaching and learning quality in needy areas. Also included in the program were training of trainers (TOT) classes to provide opportunity for teachers to share newly-acquired knowledge with others and raise their training quality.
