Hanoi Invests €783 Mln for Metro Rail

On August 3, the Department of Planning and Architecture in collaboration with the Hanoi Metro Rail Management Board and consultant Systra announced the master plan for urban rail system.
 
The project has a total investment capital of € 783 million euro, of which € 280 million comes from France’s ODA loans and € 503 million from Vietnamese counterpart funds.
 
The 12.2 km rail route, with 8.5 km on the surface and 4 km underground, will run from Nhon - National Road 32 - Cau Dien - Mai Dich - Cau Giay - Kim Ma - Giang Vo - Cat Linh - Quoc Tu Giam - Hanoi Railway Station.
 
With eight bus stops on the surface and four underground stops, the rail route, expected to start commercial operation in 2015, will transport 8.600 passengers an hour.
