Over the past time, Dong Nai Trade Promotion Centre has spared no effort to organizing quite a few trade exchange programs, seminars, and sending representatives to attend local and foreign trade fairs. This has brought many cooperation chances to enterprises, thereby helping Dong Nai businesses to better conquer domestic markets, as well as international ones.
Dong Nai is one of the localities that possesses many advantages in attracting investment and tourism trade as the province is an industrial development point in the southern key economic zone, characterised by relatively high-income population, creating strong consumption demand in the market. Dong Nai is located near the biggest economic centre of the country, the airport, the seaport, and has Highway No. 1 running through it, creating a cargo-transport channel in the province. In addition, the provincial authorities have paid special attention to realising open-door policy, welcoming investors and especially supporting enterprises under the motto "Stay by the side of enterprises”. Therefore, Dong Nai is always the first choice of businesses.
The province is not only relying on the afore-mentioned advantages but also actively seeking opportunities to attract business investment in Dong Nai province to facilitate the development of the local business community. Sharing about this issue, Mr Dinh Hung Cuong, Director of the Centre, said that during the six first months in 2012, Dong Nai trade promotion centre endeavoured to develop the foreign market via sending a delegation to the trade fair in Singapore, boost trade promotion in Malaysia and China, and promote trade cooperation with a business delegation of Iran. At the same time, the centre also laid special focus on developing the domestic markets via some activities including organising fairs for the sake of workers at Cam Duong rubber farm and some industrial zones in the province, sending essentials to the rural areas, supporting businesses in participating in exhibition fairs in other localities. Additionally, the centre has organised workshops and training for the businesses, actively promoted marketing and promotion activities related to trade and services to assist the businesses to easily grasp the necessary information.
One of the tasks of the Trade Promotion Centre is to connect businesses in trade relationships: "Creating opportunities for business cooperation is very important,” emphasized Mr Cuong.
In order to conquer the global market, enterprises in Dong Nai province need to cooperate with foreign enterprises to take advantage of high technology, capital and human resources, which is expected to shorten the gap to bring the country’s goods to the world market. Simultaneously, the businesses themselves should do their utmost to improve their capacity and underpin the development to meet the requirements of the foreign partner.
According to Mr Cuong, in order to better take on world markets, Dong Nai businesses should note the following tasks (i) establishing a long-term business strategy in which stages are divided to match the actual situation of the enterprise and the market; (2) focusing on trade promotion activities, access to markets, diversification of trade partners, building good brand, stabilizing product quality; (3) participating in the program “ Vietnamese use Vietnamese goods” so as to develop the domestic market and (4) participating in trade exchange programs and international trade fairs combined with commercial online applications online to develop overseas markets.
Sharing further about the activities during the last 6 months of 2012, Mr Cuong revealed that the centre did conduct many positive activities such as organizing fairs in rural areas and industrial zones, organizing the annual Vietnam high-quality goods fair and year-end shopping fair, organizing 05 workshops with an aim to update the market situation, brand building, e-commerce applications, the link between agricultural product suppliers and procuring units. Along with these, the centre also organised a trade exchange programme in Dak Nong with the participation of two foreign business delegations. The centre also sent representatives to participate in the annual Lifestyle Expo fair in Germany, brought together a trade exchange delegation to undertake market development in Myanmar, and promptly finalized the establishment of the Dong Nai e-commerce portal.
