Apart from its efforts for improved product quality, SORUCO attaches particular importance to expanding rubber growing areas which reached 324.54 hectares in 2009, 1,086.4 ha in 2010, 1,184.47 ha in 2011, and 787.15 ha in 2012. Besides, breeding selection is also an important of task for the company as it determines productivity, output and quality.

Speaking of the operating difficulties SORUCO faces, General Manager Do Quoc Quyt said that the current volatile economic situation, tightened bank credit, and declining rubber prices in the midst of increased fuel, input and electricity prices directly affect the company's operations. Some projects had to be halted in 2013 like Suoi Doi Urban Residential and Commercial Services Complex. Against this backdrop, SORUCO expects State support for the rubber industry as other countries like Thailand and Malaysia have done.

In the coming time, SORUCO will invest to build a new rubber processing plant in Nghia Trung plantation. It also maintains the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system for office, factories and Minh Thanh and Nha Bich farms, applies ISO/IEC 17025 to quality management department, and enhances internal control. SORUCO also strives to increase rubber planting areas in affiliated units.
