Hung Diep Private Enterprise: Kind Heart Makes Good Name

Established in 1994 with the main functions of supplying fertilisers, plant protection chemicals and petroleum products, Hung Diep Private Enterprise has contributed significantly to agricultural and rural development of Tay Ninh province and the Southeast region of Vietnam. The company is also considered a trusted partner of local farmers. After nearly 20 years accompanying farmers, Director Do Thi Diep always feels anxious about the livelihoods of farmers because the agricultural sector has a lot of problems that the farmers themselves are unaware of. Specifically, environmental pollution and degradation are primarily caused by the abuse of agricultural chemicals and chemical fertilisers, she explained. With lower quality, their products difficultly compete with foreign rivals and their livelihoods are thus threatened.

 

Therefore, she always bears in mind that “A kind heart is needed in any trade. Farmers must have profits to live on agriculture for long. A kind heart and a good name are the key to sustainable development of a company.” For this reason, she personally cooperates with competent units to organise many programmes to provide knowledge of using fertilisers, pesticides and herbicides effectively to minimise soil pollution. Hung Diep has also joined hands with Tay Ninh Farmers Association and fertiliser producers to open regular customer meetings to learn about farmers’ demands and inform of correct techniques, knowledge and methods of using fertilisers effectively. Notably, Hung Diep also designed website and printed brochures to introduce suitable fertilisers for different soils and crops.

 

With its efforts and reputation, Hung Diep Private Enterprise has to date become a reputable supplier and distributor of high-quality fertilisers in the region. The company is supplying products to more than 100 big customers, which are resellers, companies and farm owners in Tay Ninh and other provinces. Apart from ensuring all statutory employment treatments for employees, the company also spends a huge amount of money for charitable and social activities like presenting gifts to the poor, presenting scholarships for students, building charity houses, and aiding poor patients.

 

With its contributions to agricultural and rural development and its sharing with the community, Hung Diep has been awarded a lot of much-desired awards, certificates and titles from central and local agencies like Commemorative Medal for excellent agricultural and countryside development achievements from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Commemorative Medal for the sake of Vietnamese farmers from the Vietnam Farmers Association; Southeast Golden Star Award from the Vietnam Young Entrepreneur Association. Entrepreneur Do Thi Diep was named “Outstanding entrepreneur of Tay Ninh province in 2006-2010". These are spiritual motivations for Hung Diep to continue to make efforts and contribute to the development of local agriculture.
