“Small businesses such as restaurants, kiosks, cafés or bistros are often an important focal point in the community: they support local events, get involved in social and ecological projects or are simply central places where residents can come together and exchange notes,” explains Mr. Philippe Bacac, Managing Director, METRO Cash & Carry Vietnam. “With the “METRO Community Stars 2014” award we are putting the spotlight on people who usually does not get the recognition that big companies enjoy. But these business owners make a lasting contribution to integration in the community as entrepreneurs and role models.” The leading international self-service wholesaler is honouring social and ecological commitment and entrepreneurial spirit to motivate other business owners to get more actively involved in their local community.
