Cathay Pacific Airways has recently been named “World’s Best Airline” in the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards. This is the fourth time Cathay Pacific has received the World’s Best Airline honour - the only airline to achieve such a feat. The latest Skytrax awards are based on a survey of 18.85 million airline passengers from around the world who voted for their favourite travel experiences between August 2013 and May 2014. In the same awards, one world was named the World’s Best Airline Alliance for the second year running, confirming its position as the most highly prized global airline alliance. Cathay Pacific is a founder member of one world. To celebrate this occasion, the Hong Kong carrier is offering customers making reservations before end of August special price promotions when flying to certain destinations in the US, Canada, Australia and Japan. In addition, customers reserving an economy class ticket to the US and Canada this August and departing in September can carry an extra item of luggage weighing up to 23 kilogrammes. Cathay Pacific has also tailored special promotions to accommodate its corporate customers. Companies who sign corporate agreements with the airline this August and September can avail themselves of a free upgrade to business class.
