Hanesbrands Vietnam Expands Manufacturing Base in Vietnam
Hanesbrands Vietnam, the subsidiary of Hanesbrands - a global leading apparel marketer, recently opened its Vietnam’s third factory in Chinh Nghia commune, Kim Dong district, Hung Yen province.
The new plant is situated 10km away from the Khoai Chau factory and built on a total area of 84,553 m2 with a total investment of US$15 million. This plant has recruited 2,000 employees and it is expected to expand the workforce from 5,500 to 6,000 local residents once put in full operation.
With an annual capacity of over 67 million products, the manufacturing facility in Kim Dong district focuses on producing and processing garment products, especially bra and woven boxers – two new categories that will be starting up in Vietnam.
Laying foundation in Vietnam in 2007, Hanesbrands Vietnam has seen a stable growth and developed two production hubs in Hung Yen and Phu Bai (Hue) with a total capacity of 400 million products per year. By end of 2014, the Company expects to employ almost 10,000 employees in Vietnam, accounting for nearly 20 percent of Hanesbrands’ global workforce. The Kim Dong factory – the third one of its kind is the very result of Hanesbrands’ positive business results and promising outlook in Vietnam.
