As one of the first private industrial waste treatment companies in Bac Ninh province, Hung Hung Green Environment Co., Ltd, set up seven years ago, has quickly won the trust of many partners in industrial parks and received high appreciation from environment authorities.
Set up in 2007, the company invested VND80 billion (US$4 million) to build a facility on over 20,000 square metres in the first phase to treat industrial waste, especially hazardous waste and medical waste. Currently, the facility consists of all necessary works for its operations like a 3,000-square metre hazardous waste treatment storage warehouse, a liquid waste treatment plant with a daily capacity of 60 cubic metres, a hazardous waste incinerator with a daily capacity of 5 tonnes, and transportation vehicles. Besides, the company has rapid test labs and a lot of machines, equipment and gear for waste processing and recycling. These are the optimal technologies and methods of waste disposal studied and applied by the Institute of Science under the University of Technology.
Deputy Director Nguyen Van Chien said, "To further improve its operating capacity, the company invested over VND30 billion for its first waste treatment facility of the first phase in Bac Ninh province. The plant has a daily processing capacity of 30 tonnes of waste. With a wastewater treatment system using biochemical methods with a drum washing system of 375 kilograms an hour, an ash stabilising and solidifying system with an hourly capacity of 1 tonne, an hazardous waste incinerator of 200 kilograms an hour, and a waste incinerator of 1 tonne an hour, industrial wastes treated meet standards to ensure environmental safety. Currently, the company has large oil-recycling and waste-treating systems capable of separating precious metals from industrial wastes, especially from circuit boards and electronic components for reuse, thus reducing environment-polluting wastes, economising resources and bringing profit for the company". After seven years of operation, the company has secured the trust of companies like Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd and Orion Vina (Yen Phong Industrial Park), Canon, Float Glasses and Vietnam Dragonjet (Que Vo Industrial Park), Nissin Electric and Viglacera (Tien Son Industrial Park), Taeyang Electronics (Viet Yen Industrial Park, Bac Giang province), and ABB (Hanoi City).
Operated in environment field, the company always pays attention to assessing the impacts of disposals to the surroundings. Together with safe use and operation of devices and the planting of barrier trees every year, Hung Hung Green Environment Company has collaborated with the Centre for Environment and Natural Resources Monitoring to organise four environmental status monitors. The groundwater, surface water, waste water, air and other analytical results in production space met standards and stayed within the limits. With its efforts to protect the environment, Hung Hung has been awarded many prestigious titles and awards from the Provincial People's Committee and other agencies.
Apart from its own efforts, the company will need the care and support of authorities for land fund, capital fund and environment policies to continue with its sustainable development.
