In 2014, the factory had very good business performance. Revenue, sales and pre-tax profit increased from a year earlier. Although it faced a number of disadvantageous factors, it still managed to ensure employment and higher incomes for employees, showing its responsibility to its employees. Mr Ngo Van Minh, Factory Director, said: “Workers make products. Entrepreneur and workers must work in harmony with each other to boost productivity.” In Minh Quan Paper Factory, the harmonious combination, for the entrepreneur, is caring for the material and spiritual life of the workers, and for the workers, it is the loyalty and attachment to the company. The employees are recruited from Bac Giang province, Hanoi City and Bac Ninh province (Yen Phong and Tien Du districts). They are poor or near-poor people. Minh Quan Paper Factory trains workers to perform their work well and distributes rewards for good performance. Workers are provided with spacious accommodations, social insurance and annual holidays.
They are also given presents (valued VND100,000 - 300,000 each) in major national holidays like New Year Holiday. The company visits and presents gifts (VND200,000) for its employees when they have wedding, funeral, house inauguration, birth-giving or accident. With such care, workers are very loyal to the factory and try to worker harder and better to raise labour productivity.
