Son Duong Forestry Co., Ltd. is responsible for planting, tending, managing, protecting and developing forest resources, exploiting and purchasing raw materials, providing service and technical supplies for the afforestation work of local people. Implementing the policy of allocating land and forest, and diversifying the industries of manufacturing and wood processing, the staff of Son Duong Forestry Co., Ltd. has united to promote the competition in production, boosting productivity and plants’ quality, efficiently exploiting economic value of the forest. The company’s leaders have flexibly combined various production methods such as contracting in cycles, contracting in phases or joining planting, tending and deriving economic benefits from forest. In particular, the management of the company has effectively implementing the method of contracting in cycles, in which forests are invested mainly by the company’s capital. The contracting households financed by a portion of their labour. When exploiting, the company obtained the amount of product corresponding with the capital and the rate of exceeding product agreed upon by the two sides in the contract. With this method, the company has so far always completed the task of procurement of raw materials, a success not many units are able to attain.

 

As for managing and protecting forest resources, to cope with the extreme weather, sometimes pouring, sometimes burning hot for days, the company’s leaders regularly and continuously directed, supervised and inspected the unit’s plantation. From captain to technical staff, all needed to coordinate with contracting households to ensure that all operations go smoothly. In addition, the company also implemented many measures to protect forest resources, such as: Coordinating with the Party committees, authorities and organisations in the area to introduce courses on the Law of Forest Resources Protection and Development, the Law of Preventing and Extinguishing Forest Fires, sanctions for violations in forest management and protection; Cooperating with the local police and authorities to build coordination regulations, settling cases of violations, etc. Thanks to those efforts, Son Duong has become a shining example in the province's forestry sector in term of security, the number of violations in land encroachment and illegal exploitation of forest resources has decreased greatly.

 

To promote solidarity among workers, strengthening the tie between businesses and the district, the company’s leaders also promoted cultural and sports activities as well as health care for employees. Recognizing the important role of human resources, in recent years, the company also has paid special attention to improving the quality of human resources, focusing on building a strong team of leaders and managers, paying attention to the planning, training and retraining of staff. Currently, the total number of employees of the company is 80 people, of which the number with college and university degree is 28 people, 12 people have vocational education, and the rest are technical workers.
