In particular, Vinacomin has implemented its restructuring under the decision by the Prime Minister to overcome shortcomings in management.
Vinacomin has mapped out its plans for 2015, targeting total revenue of over VND114 trillion, profit of VND1,500 billion, coal consumption of 38 million tonnes, average wage of VND8.7 million a person per month. Vinacomin will focus on stabilising production, promoting domestic coal consumption, enhancing cost governance, improving quality and efficiency in various business fields, promoting investment in technology innovation, ensuring the progress of projects, and continuing to improve the efficiency of management to ensure proper growth. Particularly, the goal of improving wages, working conditions and benefits for employees is paid due attention.
Specifically, Vinacomin focuses on promoting production to meet the coal demand of the economy, contributing to ensuring national energy security. It will also complete workforce restructuring and suitable management mechanism, renovate technology, cut costs to improve productivity and quality competitiveness of products to ensure proper, efficient and sustainable growth.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai praised the efforts of the coal industry in the last year. Those results made important contributions to ensuring national energy security and socio-economic development. In particular, workers' lives have been constantly improved. At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the coal industry played its important role in the socio-economic development of the country. It can be seen that in 2015, Vinacomin will have steady, comprehensive growth, specifically in mechanics sector. It has arranged and completed the implementation of the restructuring scheme in the 2012 -2015 period and prepared to continue to perfect organisation under Decision 37 / QD-TTg of the period after 2015. Vinacomin has paid attention to improving the lives of its workers, specifically miners. However, Deputy Prime Minister also stressed and required that Vinacomin pay more attention and have more measures to ensure worker safety. It is important to innovate relentlessly; otherwise, Vinacomin will be backwards and fail right from the assembly stage. Along with that, in construction, there are proposals in mechanism to improve efficiency, and ensure coal output to meet the coal demand of the country in the short term and long term. In addition, Vinacomin must continue to innovate and perfect its organisation and management model, and that of its subsidiaries and affiliated entities towards modernisation, increasing labour productivity and business efficiency so that it deserves to be one of the 3 pillars of national energy security. The coal industry not only ensures energy security for the country but also develops in harmony with other economic sectors, especially those related to environmental issues in Quang Ninh, to ensure harmonious development of the tourism industry of the province of Quang Ninh.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that Vinacomin must take more drastic measures in order to minimise risks to workers while maximising work security, and guaranteeing income and employment for workers. The task of ensuring energy security is long-term, so Deputy Prime Minister suggested that Vinacomin focus its resources to stay close to Plan 60 assigned by Prime Minister, promote the study and exploration of the Red River coal basin, of production of chain alumina and of titanium, and apply mechanisation, science and technology in production.
