Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism

Launched on January 9, 2015, the “Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism” Contest has attracted over 32,000 candidates from 1,726 high schools across the country. The contest was hosted by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism Capacity Development Programme, and the Thanh Nien Newspaper.
 
The first and second rounds of the contest were held online on the websites www.vietnamtourism.gov.vn, www.thanhnien.com.vn and www.saigonact.edu.vn. Candidates answer 20 multiple choice questions and one additional question predicting the number of entrants. The jury will select 100 candidates with the highest scores for the second round. Each contestant will answer 20 multiple choice questions and write an essay of 500-700 words related to the theme of the contest. The Jury will select 20 students this highest scores for the finale.
 
The total prize value is VND175 million, a Trans-Vietnam tourism trip for five best contestants, a free course for 100 students with the highest scores in the first round at the Saigon College of Culture, Arts and Tourism (Saigonact). Besides, the Organising Board will fund travel and accommodation for 20 finalists, five students with the highest scores in the first and second rounds, and the Boards of Management of two schools with the biggest number of contestants.
 
The finale will be aired on HTV Television on June 14, 2015.
