Huawei Helps Europe Speed up Digitisation through Innovation
Huawei will work with European partners to develop an industry ecosystem that accelerates the pace of digitisation, Chief Strategy Marketing Officer William Xu told participants at Huawei’s third Europe Innovation Day event.
“Huawei can help Europe accelerate digitisation in the areas of equipment, infrastructure, and applications, and we are working closely with customers, partners, and research institutes to drive progress,” Mr Xu said.
Since 2006, Huawei has established 19 joint innovation centres with European carriers to research future networks and new services, and to better serve users. The firm has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, an applied research organisation headquartered in Germany, to cooperate on Industry 4.0, and is working with SAP to launch IoT (internet of things) and Industry 4.0 solutions for the transportation, oil and gas, and manufacturing sectors.
At the event, Huawei has announced to have established a strategic alliance with Vodafone, the world’s largest carrier based in Europe, to explore the global enterprise ICT market. Both parties will develop joint solutions in new product development, indoor network coverage, machine-to-machine module design, safe cities, IoT, and cloud data centres.
