Song Be Rubber Co., Ltd Improving Competitiveness

With its effective solutions to improve competitiveness and increase profitability, Song Be Rubber Co., Ltd (Soruco) has affirmed its brand prestige in the domestic and foreign markets, ensured better livelihoods for employees and contributed to local economic development.

Levelling brand name
Song Be Rubber Co., Ltd, set up 33 years ago, has asserted its brand and established stable production area in two provinces: Bau Bang district, Binh Duong province, and Chon Thanh, Loc Ninh, Bu Dop and Bu Dang districts, Binh Phuoc province.

In addition to growing, exploiting, purchasing, processing and selling latex, Song Be Rubber Co., Ltd is also responsible for planting, managing and protecting forests; managing, investing and building industrial and residential zone infrastructure; and developing rubber farms. As of December 31, 2016, the company managed 5,309.45 ha of rubber trees, including 2,405.64 ha being tapped. The company earned revenue of VND223 billion and profit after tax of VND1 billion in 2016.

Currently, the company has four rubber farms with a total area of 13,358 ha, one factory and two latex processing units with a combined annual capacity of 6,000 tonnes. The factory is furnished with equipment and machinery imported from Malaysia’s GOLSTAR Company. It manufactures SVR 3L latex, the most advanced at present. Apart from processing its own latex, it processes SVR 3L latex for other customers in Binh Phuoc and other provinces. In 2008, the company was assigned to co-operate with Investment and Industrial Development Corporation (Becamex IDC) to establish Becamex - Binh Phuoc Infrastructure Development Joint Stock Company to develop the 4,633-ha Becamex - Binh Phuoc Industrial - Service and Urban Complex in Chon Thanh district. It also joined with other partners to found An Loc - Hoa Lu National Highway 13 BOT Joint Stock Company to build the 30-km traffic route from An Loc to Hoa Lu. This is the foundation for the company to have groundbreaking growth and lead the company to a new high.

In addition, Soruco has applied the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system and upgraded it to the 9001:2016 system and the laboratory quality management system - ISO/IEC 17025-2007.” Currently, Soruco is offering best-quality products, such as SVL 3L and SVL 10 latex, in which SVR 3L latex is the company’s main product made according to TCVN 3769:2016 on the advanced production line system fabricated by GOLSTAR Company of Malaysia. This good quality product is favoured by domestic and foreign customers and won many awards such as Famous Competitive Brand Award, Quality Award 2006, Quality Award 2011, ISO Gold Cup 2007, Vietnam Elite Cup 2009 and Vietnam WTO Gold Cup 2010. All products are highly valued by customers and widely used in the tyre industry, automobile tyres and industrial plastics. The company's products are not only widely sold in the domestic market but also exported to many countries and territories such as Malaysia, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.

Sustainable development strategy
To achieve sustainable development goals, Song Be Rubber Co., Ltd has constantly accelerated the application of scientific and technological achievements to production, invested in state-of-the-art production lines and equipment to enhance productivity as well as product quality. The company has at all times paid much attention to environmental protection. It invested to build wastewater treatment systems of the national standard applied to wastewater treated in the natural rubber processing industry. In the coming years, the company will expand production scale: Enlarging its rubber acreage to 6,000 - 7,000 ha, building more SVR 3L, CV 50 and CV 60 latex processing plant to diversify product lines. In addition to developing rubber trees, Song Be Rubber Co., Ltd is also engaged in other industries based on the development direction of Binh Phuoc province. Specifically, in agriculture, the company tended 5,300 ha of rubber trees in Bu Dap, Nghia Trung, Loc Thanh and Nha Bich farms. In industry, Soruco continues to carry out Becamex - Binh Phuoc Industrial - Service and Urban Complex, continue the joint venture with An Loc - Hoa Lu National Highway 13 BOT Joint Stock Company to build the traffic route and collect fees on the 30-km traffic route from An Loc to Hoa Lu. It will upgrade and expand Provincial Road 741 road from Dong Xoai Town to Binh Phuoc Rubber Industry College. In service, the company build the 23-ha Minh Thanh watershed ecological tourist area, and upgrade and expand the Ba Ra cable car spiritual tourism site.

With its achievements, Song Be Rubber Co., Ltd was awarded the Third-class Labour Order in 1995, the Second-class Labour Order in 2003 and the First-class Labour Order in in 2008.
