On August 16, the international seminar on “Fire safety - evacuation in Vietnam, and experiences of Japan” sponsored by Tokyo University of Science and Panasonic, which is held first time in Hanoi by the Urban & Architectural Institute, National University of Civil Engineering with the participant of many scientist and experts in Vietnam and Japan.
Per the General Statistics Office, there were 2,091 fires and explosions nationwide in the first 6 months with increasing scale and complexity, especially in urban areas and big cities, causing serious damages to people and properties as well as affecting people’s lives. This is due to rapid urbanization, escalated scales and areas of constructions, along with an increase in population and numbers of combustible materials being frequently used. In addition, people’s awareness on fire prevention and fighting is still limited in complying with the law and selection of safe electrical equipment leading to potential fire risks.
In the circumstance, the International seminar is an opportunity for experts, individuals and organizations in the field of architecture and construction to share practical experiences and solutions in fire safety and evacuation for the community.

From July to November 2018, Panasonic has been organizing a series of workshops on electrical safety and new product introduction for 2,000 electrical engineers under the system of partners of Panasonic Eco Solutions Vietnam. The program aims to update the knowledge and new skills to help electrical engineers raise the sense of electrical safety in construction and installation as well as and guide the electricity users to proactively ensure safety for themselves, family and community.
